Yuichiro Ukai at Parker Gallery

i'm so deeply obsessed with the work of yichiro ukai, a 30 year-old emerging artist on the autism spectrum whose works that mesh manga cartoons he loves to watch with traditional japanese figurative representation now sell for 50,000 a pop. i went to the opening of his new exhibit (only his second or third exhibit ever, i believe) last week at parker gallery on melrose, where he was stationed at a table in the corner of the room creating new pieces (per his own personal request). his work is up at parker through august, go if you're in la!
