i co-sign all of new york-based designer andrea smith's artistic endeavors and encourage signing up for her substack, whose periodic entries offer thoughtful glimpses into her artistic process, notes from recent studio and exhibition visits, and other miscellaneous musings. i'm always inspired when she posts, which isn't often.

one of her entries includes an ongoing compilation of artist residencies, grants, and fellowships from around the world. it was first posted in may 2025 and, as i'm not a paid subscriber, i can't speak to how frequently it's updated, but it's an extraordinarily generous resource nonetheless.
